Your Guide To Pre-planning For The NDIS

Your NDIS Plan

If you are eligible for the NDIS, you will be given the opportunity to create an NDIS plan. To ensure you receive the most from your NDIS plan, it is a good idea to begin Pre-planning before your NDIS planning meeting.

If you are eligible for the NDIS, you will be referred to as a participant. To check your eligibility, please read our NDIS eligibility information here.

Once you are identified as an NDIS participant, you will be given the opportunity to create a tailored NDIS plan. This plan is created together with a member of the NDIS planning team and yourself.

Every NDIS plan is tailored to ensure participants receive the support they need by helping them to identify and reach goals, whether this be securing work, joining a social group or pursuing an interest.

A good place to start when getting ready for your planning meeting is therefore Pre-planning by making a list of the things you would like to achieve.

This Pre-planning planning process can be made easier with the use of a Pre-planning tool.

To assist you in your Pre-planning, Independence Australia have created a user friendly downloadable checklist tool which has been designed specifically to ensure you get the most from the NDIS.

You can use this checklist in two ways:

  1. Download the checklist and complete it by typing your responses in.
  2. Download and print the checklist to complete and bring along to your NDIS planning meeting.
